Dr. Alexander Hynes is originally from Colorado and also lived on the East Coast before moving to Texas in 2017. He graduated magna cum laude from Colorado State University-Pueblo, with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology. Dr. Hynes also earned a Master of Biomedical Sciences from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He attended medical school at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, completing many of his clinical rotations in New York City.
Dr. Hynes continued his medical training in Texas, completing his anesthesiology residency in 2021 and pain medicine fellowship training in 2022 at UT Health San Antonio. During his training, Dr. Hynes served as Chief Resident and earned several awards including being named Resident of the Year in 2021. He was inducted into the Arnold P. Gold Foundation and earned the Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award in 2018 and 2019. During fellowship, Dr. Hynes continued to practice anesthesiology as an assistant professor at the UT Health School of Medicine.
In 2022, Dr. Hynes moved to Austin to join Drs. Silberberg, Bednar, Jarzombek, and Julia at Greater Austin Pain Center. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing frisbee golf, cooking, and watching sports.
